Anaemia management and heart failure guidelines

Current heart failure management guidelines recognise the importance of anaemia, but offer no guidance on its management. Professor Swedberg describes the growing awareness of the benefits of treating iron deficiency anaemia, and the need for more data to help inform future guideline development.
